- Indian Artworks from Japanese Collections or made by Japanese on Indian themes.

Title: Ichimatsu Ningyou or Ichimatsu Doll

Description: Ichimatsu ningyou is this type of doll, that originated in time of one of the most popular Kabuki actor called Sanogawa Ichimatsu in Edo period. height is usually between about 10 cm and 80cm. The owner of the doll could change the kimono, according to their preferences. This was until early 1930s. But nowadays it is just for viewing, displayed inside a box.

Description: In 2006 about 50 students of Tokyo Gakugei University donated money to build the school’s new building. The school authorities started the annual art festival. Japanese Yusuke Asai, participated for 3 years. Along with the Indian school children they painted the walls and made handprints to communicate the message of importance of education and how to alleviate problems of poverty

Title: Conservation of Japanese scroll painting under guidance from Japanese experts
Description: This scroll painting is not an antique but an exercise object used for practising Japanese techniques of conservation, by Mr K.K. Gupta from National Museum, New Delhi. He attended a six-months art conservation module in 1974, organized by Asian Cultural Centre for Unesco, The Japanese National commission for Unesco, The Agency for Cultural Affairs and by and at the Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties, Ueno Park, Tokyo. Conservation of paper and paintings under guidance of Naohachi Usami san, owner of a private conservation studio, within Kyoto National Museum, and on Urushi (lacquer) objects at Tokyo institute.
